For most vehicles, Model 6 is the appropriate Tow & Stow hitch. However, if you have a vehicle with oversized tires, a lift kit, or a trailer that is not at the same relative height as your receiver, you may need Model 8 or Model 10. The following diagram depicts how to calculate what is commonly referred to as 'drop'.
The Tow & Stow ball assembly is finished with nickel-plated chrome.
Although we do manufacture the Tow & Stow with a hollow receiver tube (similar to that used to make most receivers on vehicles), this does not affect the rating or strength of the product. The Tow & Stow is tested by an accredited testing facility to the SAE standard J684. By using high strength tube, we are able to create better weld penetration which produces a stronger and more consistent joint. As a bonus, the hitch is considerably lighter, making it more user friendly and helping with shipping charges.
Yes. If you need rise to better meet the coupler on your trailer, then you can simply turn the hitch upside down in the receiver and use the height adjustment to give you the needed rise.
